DIGGING IT: September Soil Series (Sept 24th)

If you want to learn more about soil types, matching forages to soil types and managing weeds these September Soil Workshops are for you! Each day will include a basic soil map study of the site area, soil pit analysis and comparision and soil texturing.
Sept 24: Can we match forage plants to soil characteristics?
We will visit two site locations to compare a forest and cultivated soil along with soil health properties.
In the afternoon we will compare an upper, middle and lower slope soil profile while trying to match potential forage varieties to soil profiles.
This event is open to both professionals/agrologists/environmental field staff and to ranchers/farmers who are members. If you are a member and an agrologist, please choose the agrologist rate if you will be using this series for PD hours. Thank you.
Attendees need to bring a lunch, snacks and water to be comfortable for the full day.
