DIGGING IT: September Soil Series (Sept 17th)

If you want to learn more about soil types, matching forages to soil types and managing weeds these September Soil Workshops are for you!  Each day will include a basic soil map study of the site area, soil pit analysis and comparision and soil texturing.
Sept 17: What can we learn about building soil & forage health from two Peace Living Lab sites?
In the morning we will look at challenges that can arise in break and re-seeding of perennial forage and discuss options when working with a limited top soil layer.
In the afternoon we will observe a time series of bale grazing and its effects on soil structure and plant health. We will visit two site locations
This event is open to both professionals/agrologists/environmental field staff and to ranchers/farmers who are members.  If you are a member and an agrologist, please choose the agrologist rate if you will be using this series for PD hours.  Thank you.
Attendees need to bring a lunch, snacks and water to be comfortable for the full day
