DESCRIPTION:Listen to Adjunct Professor Dr Breeanna Kelln on March 12th.\nFREE  for Members. \nIf you aren’t a member please consider becoming one (https://peaceforage.bc.ca/information/membership/) \nWebinar Links will be emailed out to those who register on March 10th. \nMore from Dr Breeanna Kelln: introducting non-bloat legumes into existing stands article and a video with the Beef School on rejuvenating pasture with non-bloat legumes \nBreeanna was raised on a mixed farm and where she continues to farm with her husband and son near Duval\, Saskatchewan. For 15 years Breeanna worked in various industry roles involved in agronomy\, livestock\, and extension. Her PhD program focused on the inclusion of bloat-free legumes into existing pasture stands to improve productivity. This project used a systems approach to evaluate the effects of sod-seeded bloat-free legumes (sainfoin and cicer milkvetch) on pasture productivity\, animal performance\, rumen fermentation\, greenhouse gas emissions\, and system economics.

Greg and Jan went from near bankruptcy in 1999 to paying off a 200-acre farm and house in 3 years with custom grazing on leased land and are completely debt free today.  Holistic High Density Planned Grazing is used to graze cow/calf pairs\, bred heifers\, bulls\, and stockers. They own cows/sheep/pigs\, train guardian dogs\, and raise shitake mushrooms. They have also begun an on-farm sawmill operation to direct market lumber from the timbered areas on their farms. They direct market grass-fed beef\, lamb\, pork\, mushrooms and lumber.
